it appears all the follows from Mastodon via mostr.pub to Nostr are broken too. i had to refollow myself both ways. from Nostr because it made new public keys for every account. from Mastodon because it apparently doesn't know that i'm following anyone anymore. did they lose the entire database or something?

lots of actors in this space not being entirely transparent about luring and locking people into their services. just saw a post explain where to upload images if your client doesn't do that, as if there is only one image hosting site to use for Nostr. another fun one is when a client says "this is how you get a Lightning address" and links to a particular provider, neglecting to mention that other providers exist or that you can even self host.

i would like to see some more stats for relays such as post volume, number of collected clients, uptime percentage and response time, because i'd want good stats for that before paying for access to post to a paid relay.
