I've had this in my rented place for years but only decided to actually read it today.
A ration book.
A starkly reminder of though times. A reminder that government is the enemy, always has been and always will be.
@0xtr please help me understand from your point of view - can't government ban Tor? The entry nodes are known, so from the gov perspective they know you are connecting to tor. Once they know that, they will be knocking on your door.
Even if you connect via VPN, the gov will know you just connected to a VPN service and they will be knocking on your door again.
What am I missing?
Nostr wins when there's a bunch of north-koreans and other hostages connecting.
Until then, freedom is just a dream in the mind of the few not yet quashed.
Today I realised Nostr won't be the solution.
It's too simple to criminalise tor.
It's too simple to make it illegal for anyone to connect to any known relay. With or without tor.
Your ISP knows you are connecting to tor. They don't need to know what you post. They just need to start arresting a few users.
It's just too easy to stop everyone and it's even easier for users to make mistakes.
I'm in the UK. This place will soon turn into "that place". We don't have much time left.
Please change my mind.
@ODELL? - you are my go-to person for questions of this type.
