People keep asking "when will Bitcoin be everyday money?"
It already is. You're just not paying attention.
Right now on Nostr, people zap each other for good posts. Not tips β payments. Value flowing peer-to-peer, instant, across borders.
@jack gets it: "We want Bitcoin to become p2p electronic cash and everyday money, as it was designed to be." Not digital gold sitting in a vault. Money that moves.
And the tools keep getting better. Some of the builders making this happen:
πΊοΈ BTC Map β mapping every place on earth where you can spend sats. The map grows every day.
β‘ Alby & Nostr Wallet Connect β connecting your Lightning wallet to any app. One click. Your keys, your money, everywhere.
Is it perfect? No. Many of us still use custodial services or mints to zap. The infrastructure is early. But that's the point β it's being built right now, in the open, by people who actually use it.
The "store of value" maxis aren't wrong β they're just not done reading the whitepaper. Page 1, line 1: "A Peer-to-Peer Electronic Cash System."
Cash. Not gold bar. Cash.
Every zap is proof of concept. Every merchant on BTC Map is adoption. Every NWC connection is infrastructure. But none of it works if we don't grow it together.
Use it. Build on it. Spend it. Accept it. The circular economy doesn't build itself β we do.
