- Reminiscence weeps down my cheek - The Inevitable masquerades as consequence "Do not strut in conceit. You can neither tear the earth apart, nor can you match the mountains in height."

Notes (7)

Abu Dharr reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: “Allah Almighty says: Whoever comes with a good deed will have the reward of ten like it and even more. Whoever comes with an evil deed will be recompensed for one evil deed like it or he will be forgiven. Whoever draws close to Me by the length of a hand, I will draw close to him by the length of an arm. Whoever draws close to Me the by length of an arm, I will draw close to him by the length of a fathom. Whoever comes to Me walking, I will come to him running. Whoever meets Me with enough sins to fill the earth, not associating any partners with Me, I will meet him with as much forgiveness.” Source: Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim 2687 nostr:nevent1qqsxf0tkqlea0lt4scln3f04h2fyvys80z4u7tcj05u5p5zjxy6l35qtfpa30

Surah Taha (20:128): "Has it not become clear to them how many generations We destroyed before them, in whose ruined dwellings they now walk? There are signs in this for those with understanding". Castles and Keeps which once upon a time were impenetrable. None could enter save for a few by the permission of their king. Now for a few pennies any riffraff off the street can visit the private chambers of the king. Some build their forever homes here, yet when they cross dimensions they cant take it with them. There are no walls which can halt death. "Whoever scatters his concerns among the matters of the world, it does not matter to Allah in which valley he meets his demise." - Sunan Ibn Majah image

"Do not strut in conceit. You can neither tear the earth apart, nor can you match the mountains in height." 17:37 The Quran uses the imagery of mountains very often because mountainous terrain can teach a person so much about the power of the one who created them, how small a human really is and how much merciful bounty reaches us. These pillars of snow and ice at Elliot Glacier are the size of BUILDINGS the picture cannot do it justice. You can hear the thunderous sound of the ice crack as it melts. its crevasses are often hidden by snow, a heavy step over a weak snow bridge sends you plummeting hundreds of feet to certain death. Allah describes the difficulty of living a good life as 'Aqabah" (The steep path), no matter how many times I tread it, literally and figuratively, I am shocked by its difficulty. Allah describes the earth as "Sutihat" (spread out). visiting terrain as impassable as this, one must think to themselves... "the whole world could've been this way" The Prophet (saw) spent his days on jabal noor, that's where he meditated, that's where his lord guided him. It's true what they say "mountains love sages, sages love mountains" image image

Do they not see the birds above them with wings outspread and [sometimes] folded in? None holds them [aloft] except the Most Merciful. Indeed He is, of all things, Seeing. 67:19 image
