It’s interesting to participate in the formation of a social media platform from such an early stage. On the one hand, I’d like a way to see significant posts since the last time I opened the app, rather than just the most recent. But that’s also the first step down the road to slavery to the algorithm like we see on every other platform atm.
The good thing about Nostr is that you’d be able to move between algorithms without losing your community, and I suppose in the end that’s the best we can do in any domain - preserve the right to vote with one’s feet.
Just not confident we’re actually able to evaluate the best thing for ourselves.

I like to think #[0] saves up all his thoughts throughout the work day and blitzkriegs us with them while power walking home
Hope this tweet brings you as big a chuckle as it did me

That’s only 14 hours out of 24.
You still have 10 hours to cook amazing meals, workout, learn a language and...
Brace yourself, dumb questions incoming:
- How do I remove relays in Damus?
- How else can I keep Damus from using so much battery?
Just clocked out (打刻), time for a nice bike ride home through Ginza
I really hope replacing social media likes with micro-payments of sats can tone down the garbage and restore value to public interaction spaces.
From teens in their bedrooms to major media organizations, everyone is being pushed toward clickbaitier, lower-effort, higher-outrage, frivolous content. But maybe measuring value by actual money rewarded will incentivize actual value, because there’s a lot I’d click but not pay for.
For example, I might click on an article entitled, “You Won’t Believe How Good Kylie Jenner Looks After Her Latest Plastic Surgery!” (I know, I’m weak) but there’s no way I’d pay any fraction of a cent to see it.
Then again, we’ve been tricked into thinking garbage is worth our attention, so maybe we’ll be just as easily tricked into thinking it’s worth our sats.

Moved house over the weekend so not completely refreshed for the week but the hour-long bike ride to work while listening to podcasts felt good. Let’s get it.
Message me if you have thoughts on raising Bitcoin awareness in Japan.

I still get Japanese people thinking my name is “Blood”. It’s like Brad Pitt’s entire career was for nothing.
Any conferences, meetups, etc. happening in Europe at the end of March/beginning of April?
Orange Pill App is a cool idea, but the rollout timing with Nostr is challenging. Wouldn’t be surprised if they have to pivot towards it like Starbackr
