Laozi did not believe that was an inherent good or evil attribute to natural phenomena but rather that their existence required balance.
This concept helped me understand the importance of taking time to be with my wife and kids but also not resent leaving them for work. Both go hand in hand. The better I work to bring a good income to my home the more quality time I can spend with my family when I’m with them.
It's easy to get wrapped up in the idea that more time is always better when its the quality of that time that really matters. None of that is possible without the balance of action between work and leisure.
