Recently opened iris.to after over a month using primaly amethyst on android. @martti has been doing some excellent work. Stuff that I really like: - Gridwiew media - Content sorting by zaps/likes as an additional feature - Robustness and simplicity - really feels like you are in control of the app - Global that is based on follower "distance" - though Ametyst's full global witg reporting is even better - Especially like Martti's concentration on privacy - I believe Iris still is fully operational over tor. Stuff that i don't like - Some bugs & jumpy feeds - Feels like is loading less post or slower than amehtyst

Can somebody help me? My android phone is dropping nostr-nests voice every 5 minutes while the screen is off.

There was a piece about the digital euro in Finnish state news media today: "Money usage will become free around eurozone - central bank will provide citizens a digieuro to substitute card payments" Few takeaways from the article: 1) Surveilance: Article claims that Idea of the digieuro is not to track single users and what they are paying for. One the other hand it is stated that it will need to be connected to your digital ID, and that it cannot be fully anomoys to make it possible to stop money laundering and terrorism. - Translation: Full tracking possible and will be used. 2) Verifiability: It must be made impossible to derive central bank total balance sheet from the system. This is so that it does not inflict financial stability problems and therefore endanger the deployment of monetary policy -Finnish Central Bank top board member - In plain words: You are not allowed to know how much digieuros are created. This must be done because if everyone knew - everyone would know that the euro has no value. Digieuro will be a total opposite of Bitcoin! Opt out.

#[0] thanks for a nice presentation at nostrica! There was some discussion on having a nostr keys as sign-up in other services. I was impressed by how vida.page manages it. You can set up a profile there by using only the nostr profile, no e-mail/phone etc. required. They don't ask for nsec key in sign-up/sign-in but only npub and a relay. They then send a verification key as nostr private message. Kind of the same way an email sign-up works. Of course you still have to have a good nseckey handling when using the nostr client, but there is no need to trust the nsec-keys to any app/service that does not need it to sign stuff.
