Merchants accepting Bitcoin via point-of-sale systems tied to central banks and the State (Stripe, Square, PayPal, Cashapp) may be offering you a convenience, but they're still creating taxable events for themselves because BTC is a taxable property, according to the Alphabet Bois. Mixing sovereign money with the state is not ideal. In fact, they're gonna have a bad time. P2P transactions circulating back into the BTC economy is where it's at. Buy from your P2P merchants!
