My current long term goal is to buy land. Something with forest and ideally water. Self sufficiency has been an interesting goal to me for a long time, and I'm finally getting closer to it being a real possibility.

Formless art for the future
I'm starting to create a little backlog text file in the CastQ project instead of posting the thoughts here. I'm not a very serious project manager, but I see the value.
I should probably consider putting my book reviews on decentralized protocols. I just kinda stopped publishing those for a bit, but I've still been writing them a little.
It would also be pretty easy to add image support, at least that's my guess. I think the complexity would be in conforming to protocols instead of getting the terminal UX to work. But image support would quickly change the vibe. Although I do love images and will probably experiment with that in the future.
It would be pretty easy to add AI to this CastQ terminal interface I'm building, but I want to be hesitant to do that. The posts are building out a sqlite database so I'd rather focus there for a while and make search as powerful as possible.
Something interesting about scheduling thoughts (and seeing the schedule) is the feedback loop it creates. It gives you a longer window of reflection before the thought is made more permanent in other minds.
Claude Code does pretty well at designing terminal interfaces. One thing I've discouraged it to do is truncate text, however. It might be okay to truncate text if it had that little streaming side to side thing that radios do, where you eventually see all of the text if you keep watching.
My tomato plant fell over, I think it's doing pretty good without a trellis.
One of my goals with CastQ is to bring back that experience of journaling. Less performative and more intimate. It's a different experience when you sit alone with your thoughts versus being exposed to a constant feed of other ideas.
My goal for 2026 is to read 10 #books

Know thyself

They’re inventing new prisons for the mind and branding it as entertainment
The mind likes to complicate things. Don't forget that simplicity is something you can always reclaim.
The tradeoff in posting less on popular platforms like X and focusing more on decentralized protocols is smaller exposure. But I've accepted that blindly growing follower count isn't a useful goal.
All I know about the future is that it will be unrecognizable compared to today.
I'm always wary of anybody who is confident they know how the future will unfold.
Artistic experimentation not only in the act of creation but also in the sharing itself.
By injecting randomized time between post frequency with a scheduler, I can get an effect of "constant broadcast". Allowing me to brainstorm in short bursts but have my feed consistently updated.
