Any Alexei Butirskiy fans? I own a small giclee of this one. Reminds me of my childhood in upstate NY. Me father was my scoutmaster and helped me love the natural world. image
Money? It is but a whisper in the wind without the roar of capital behind it.
To feel happy, give thanks. To feel strong, lift. To feel young, learn. To feel hopeful, help. There is no other way.
I created a python script that recreates the behavior of Gilfoyle's bitcoin alert from the show Silicon Valley. I added one extra feature - Willie Nelson Mode which plays the alert when there are "higher highs". Feel free to play with it. #bitcoin
Wanted: a hootsuite like experience for NOSTR. Let me create as many filtered columns as I can. Filter by Kind, hastags, user lists, media type, etc.
When is someone going to integrate holepunch with a NOSTR client so we can do p2p spaces?
Saylor reading Rothbard makes me all sorts of giddy... Like 13-year-old-girl-at-a-1990-NKOTB-concert kind of giddy.
Attention, dads of the #nostrverse! Let's dive into practical ideas that will empower your children with independence this summer. Make this summer unforgettable. 1. Encourage your children to plan and prepare a picnic or outdoor gathering with their friends. 2. Teach them basic cooking skills and have them prepare a meal for the family. 3. Help them set up a small business, such as a lemonade stand or a lawn care service. 4. Encourage them to explore their creativity by starting a summer journal, scrapbooking, or learning a new artistic skill. 5. Give them the responsibility of maintaining their own vegetable or flower garden. 6. Allow them to choose and plan a day trip or outing for the family. 7. Support them in organizing a small community service project, such as a neighborhood clean-up or volunteering at a local charity. 8. Help them create a budget for a specific goal or activity, such as saving for a bike or a summer camp. 9. Let them take the lead in organizing a family game night or movie night. 10. Encourage them to participate in a sports or arts camp to explore their interests and develop new skills. 11. Assign them age-appropriate household chores and hold them accountable for completing them independently. 12. Help them plan and execute a DIY project, such as building a birdhouse or a small piece of furniture. 13. Teach them basic car maintenance skills, such as checking tire pressure or changing a flat tire. 14. Allow them to independently navigate and plan a day trip using public transportation. 15. Support their efforts to learn a musical instrument or take singing, dancing, or acting lessons. 16. Encourage them to read books of their choice and engage in discussions about what they've read. 17. Provide opportunities for them to solve problems independently, rather than jumping in to solve everything for them. 18. Support their interest in a new hobby, such as photography, model building, or knitting, by providing resources and guidance. 19. Allow them to plan and organize a family camping trip, including choosing the location, setting up the tent, and planning meals. 20. Encourage them to take responsibility for their personal hygiene and grooming routines. 21. Support their involvement in a community sports team or club, where they can learn teamwork and leadership skills. 22. Help them research and plan a visit to a museum, historical site, or educational exhibition of their choice. 23. Encourage them to pursue a summer job or engage in entrepreneurship, such as offering pet sitting or tutoring services. 24. Support their efforts to learn a new language by providing language learning resources or enrolling them in a language class. 25. Allow them to do something dangerous, carefully. Get at it, brothers. #fatherhood #grownostr
While, in our monumental naivety, we humans often trivialize our collective impact on Mother Earth, we WILDLY overestimate our power to rectify her scars - at such a great cost to human flourishing. Stand down, puritans, we are far from the omnipotent masters of nature we delude ourselves to be! Let us retreat, refocus, and return to what we can truly control - the foundational principles of life, liberty, and property. It is there, in these primal truths, that our genuine power lies.
I cannot think of a more appropriate illustration of the state of our civilization today. image
To my fellow Fathers (yes I meant to capitalize that): Find the beauty in the annoying phases... they are just phases. Soon they won't wake you up at 5 am, cuddle up next to you because they had a bad dream, or experience your seemingly god-like protective strength when you effortlessly pluck them from imminent danger of their own making. And you will weep inside with longing for the good old days full of meaning.
Happy summer solstice to you global north plebs. For the others, I'm sorry.
Rise up sovereign blood, Bend the arc of destiny, Whereto, wayfinder? #haikustr #grownostr
