I like the bomb to delete stuff in Din Paint. Also the sounds of everything reminds me of being in my school’s computer lab as a very young kid. Like 1st grade probably and going crazy with paint and a few other little games and programs we had access to.

I got about half way though it and decided to stop, the book is interesting, the action is pretty good, the story is even pretty decent but it leans into the Borderlands like humor waaaaaaay to much which kinda ruins it for me, if the humor was more sprinkled throughout the book it would be more enjoyable but its like there are sections where the author just didn't really know what to do so he just started trying to be funny, also the item descriptions fell into the trope of everything must be sarcastic and humorous. Maybe I come back and finish the book later, but its just annoying at this point because of the humor element, which is crazy for me to say as the dude who is always posting memes and saying stupid stuff on here just for the humor value. I started reading Mistborn instead, I see a lot of people say its good. View quoted note →

I’ve been reading Dungeon Crawler Carl, if I had to describe it I would say think of any dungeon crawler game and then add the Borderlands games type of humor to it. That’s basically what it is. I could go more into depth, but it’s probably best not to say too much in case someone is planning to read it. I’ve read 20 chapters so far. I think that’s close to half way through.

Is Neuromancer worth a read? My dad said when he read it in the past he didn't really like it. But I see people online saying it's really good. Thoughts?

If you own a kindle you must jailbreak it to actually have a good experience. I do think there are a few e-readers that aren't as locked down and restricted at the kindle, I can't think of which one that is at the moment but, koreader + zenUI/zenOS(plugin for a nice UI/UX) + localsend(send files to yourself over your network) is an absolutely amazing experience.

Thoughts on DinOS: Although I've never been a fan of NixOS or Flatpaks (at least not by default), I can understand why DinOS uses them though. Given the lack of a standard Linux application format, Flatpaks make sense, and NixOS for reproducibility. If I used DinOS full time, I think the those things would bother me less once everything was set up. Ultimately, setting my biases aside, DinOS provides a really nice experience. While I won't be wiping my main system for it anytime soon, I definitely plan to keep playing around with it on test hardware and in virtual machines.

If I want to say something and make it sound German I just add -enhimer to the end of it. So for example "Hand me my cupenhimer", "I'm going to the shopenhimer". You can try this yourself. It's a fun little thing, kinda like pig latin except for its not anything like pig latin and its not latin and its not pig either.. or pigenhimer as the Germans would call it.
