It's fun when you're a side sleeper and have to sleep on your back because of an injury... That way you know when you fell unconscious and rolled onto your side. It's fun to wake up several times a night like that. I am handling this well. Life is such an adventure 🙃🫠

Yesterday I was gone for 30 minutes to go to the grocery store. When I came back the pillows on the couch had been knocked to the floor and I thought Aurora just had an ungraceful dismount from the couch. But later on I noticed she was acting almost suspiciously calm. Then in the evening I was seeing a slight tremble in her back legs. Last night she didn't jump up into the bed at all, just stayed on the floor in a little nest of pillows and blankets. This morning she was able to walk, tail wag, went out for morning break. But already she's acting tired and in pain. I wonder if poor thing didn't also hurt herself. I've already called the vet and set up the earliest appointment possible but it's a week out. In the meantime we'll just have calm time together. Please pray for us both to recover quickly 🙏

Good morning Nostr 🌞 Today I got ambitious and took Princess Aurora out on a very short walk. It was perhaps not short enough. I feel terrible that she's not getting the good morning and evening walks she's used to, but at least we have a yard she can run around in. Nothing is more humbling than injury. I saw a woman out jogging, she did 10 hill sprints up my hill which is almost a vertical wall. In a different time I might have been sassy or dismissive but now all I can think is, that lady is better prepared for the coming collapse of civilization. How am I going to flee the drone attackers up and down this mountain range if I can hardly walk a puppy around the block 😭 I will say I am more inspired than I have been in years to get back into shape. Before getting hit by a car, I thought oh eventually I'll get in shape to be hot. Now I am starting to feel I urgently need to get in shape to be as badass as Sarah Conner. Coming soon, tickets to the gun show 💪💪 First step... Physical therapy 😭
