Don't bother with Nine Sols. I'm not even finishing it. Every boss is way too hard and always 2-3 phases with retardedly punishing attacks. It's a waste of your time to bother learning all of these patterns just to progress. Don't believe me, just look up a video of someone beating the final boss. It's been a really long time since I quit a game because it was just too hard but it's happening today. Could I do it? Sure, but I'm not spending hours practicing this shit. I got to her phase 2 and that's enough for me. Seriously considering putting "souls-like" on my blocked tag list.

Playing Nine Sols has further reinforced my position that making games excessively difficult is gay. Nobody likes a cakewalk but if the game requires lots of dying just to get through on normal, it's not something to fawn over. That one run of the hard boss fight where you barely pull off the win isn't enough to make up for the 20 attempts that preceded it. I don't respect your game enough to memorize every detail of every hitbox. A better design philosophy for a game is to focus on making the gameplay fun. Groundbreaking and insane, I know. Just appeal to the power fantasy and most gamers will be happy. They might not even realize it but that's the secret sauce. Games are about a rush and being able to do things you can't do in reality.

Deep Rock Galactic has already gotten boring to me after 11 hours with my friends. I just don't see how people can play this game for 50/100/1,000 hours. It's not very exciting.

Played the Yuffie DLC tonight. Aside from the completely retarded non canon shit being made canon, it was alright. It's a few hours long, she's fun to play as, and I now have a better appreciation for her character after avoiding using her in 7 every time I played. I remember being like 8, screwing up the recruiting conversation with her twice in the original, got robbed by her late in disc 1, and deciding I hated her.
