I thought more about it and that week off I just had was the first proper vacation I've had as an adult. Every other opportunity had an asterisk on it because of circumstance. That's probably why I was able to properly relax and recover.

I looked up the annual highs and lows locally back to 100 years ago and nothing has fucking changed. There's more annual variance than there has been century variance.

Well, tomorrow's the last day of my vacation. I feel refreshed but I shouldn't have worked 7 months without a break like this. Going to make it a habit to take a week off inside of 6 months going forward since I get 3 weeks a year.
