geogram starts to feature a whole set of alternatives to excel, word and powerpoint. Built by default inside the platform, can be edited straight from a phone and shared with others without storing your files on servers. These docs introduce a novel way to create documents called NDF, which stands for NOSTR Data Format. NDF is used for much more than the whole document types you'd know. They are used for video (keep note of the likes, comments, transcriptions), they are used for meetings (e.g. a meeting room with several meetings archived inside). Login is done with NOSTR, likes, comments and editing files is made with your normal account. Inside each NDF is a zip archive with JSON files. This means a format that any other tool can read/write. A simple file that can be shared with others easily. Forget what google docs. Stop giving all your data to companies who will eventually use those things against you. That can cut your access to data anytime the internet goes down or their account is "full". You are free. Your phone is now your server. Worried about losing the phone? We got you covered, there is the "mirror" option where you pick a second phone (any old android will do) which you can leave at home to be your main "server" and keep a backup of all your data. Easy, done from within geogram. We are building the decentralized reality.

Decentralized/anonymous meetings are arriving to geogram as you can see on the screenshot. These meeetings permit several people talking, hundreds listening and to share screen, do chats and replay the recording afterwards. Viewers/listeners can join either using geogram or directly from the browser. You login using NOSTR. Best part? Runs completely from your phone. Forget about Zoom or "Teams". This works from either the Internet or your LAN without troubles. Available on the upcoming geogram release this week.

and will later study how to integrate inside geogram. For the moment the geogram private messages are really private since they are hosted directly inside the devices of users, rather than untrusted devices. But I'm quite sure we'll need this at some point.

The newer versions of geogram are equipped with a "Now" feature. Since geogram is gathering a huge number of chat and other notifications, they are now nicely gathered on a single spot that is updated in real-time with what is happening. This means for example to track what happens on IRC, telegram, blog posts published, NOSTR messages and basically anything that is a notification. There is the worry that too many notifications become annoying, here is possible to setup the priority level for specific chat rooms that you absolutely want to get a popup notification when things happen. At the moment only internet-based notifications are available. A bit later will be added radio and bluetooth notifications from other devices nearby.
