Story time!!! I was at the beach last night walking at sunset by myself. I put my shoes near a bench. No one was at the bench when I dropped them there. When I came back there were two people at the bench.. so I came up and said just getting my shoes this is where I dropped them! And one of the men said something like oh mine are over at the other bench! And for some reason I said I just moved here and he said so did I! He was probably in his early 60s and then he said come sit on the bench with us.. so I said ok and sat between him and another older man (later learned he's 75) and the guy said this is Lee! We're on his bench - the bench is dedicated to him and his wife. So I sat between these two men and watched the sun go down. We talked about life and made jokes.. and then another guy, Phil, came down and sat at the other bench next to us. Lee at points would say some good one liners - like life is meant to be fun!! So anyway I kept talking to all of them. Then I was getting ready to leave so I told Lee I'd give him a hug. So we had a hug for a while. Then I said goodbye to Phil but we kept talking for a bit... And he proceeded to tell me how this bench was a big meeting spot during covid to bring people together and that people from all over specifically come to see Lee. A big article was written about the psychology of "the bench." So I told Phil I'll be coming back because I must give Lee a show love spread love pin... And he said yes that's what Lee is all about he just loves everyone and is so nice. So then I tell Lee I'll definitely be coming back because I have to give him something and I said I didn't give him anything this time.. and he said Yes you did!! And I said oh yes that's right, I gave you my love and a hug.. And he said yes exactly! 💖 I've had many encounters like this while traveling and they are always so special, especially when I'm alone. This is Lee. I'll definitely be coming back for many sunsets with him. 💞
