HMRC is already able to seize funds from bank accounts when individuals fail to pay tax under “direct recovery of debts” powers, but now they want to extend it to payment services like Paypal. Custotial wallets and exchanges like Wallet of Satoshi & Coinbase, Binance, etc could also be subject to these rules. Make sure you’re not storing bitcoin on these services and only use non custodial wallets like Phoenix, Sparrow, Samurai Bluewallet to name a few. And no-KYC and non custodial exchanges like RoboSats & HodlHodl

Nayib Bukele has just signed into law new Innovation and Technology Manufacturing Incentives Act. El Salvador now has no tax on income, property, capital gains and import tariffs) on technology innovations, software and app programming, AI, computer and communications hardware manufacturing. This and the upcoming Bitcoin City make this country very attractive indeed.

Custodial Lightning Service Tippin.me May Be Exit Scamming Their support and telegram channel have going silent and users can’t withdraw their funds so this does not look good. It is a reminder of the dangers of using 3rd party custodians Tippin.me and Wallet of Satoshi. If you do use custodial services only keep a vary small amount of sats with them.

A US Presidential candidate speaking at the Bitcoin 2023 conference in Miami has got to be good for bitcoin. I don't know what Robert F. Kennedy Jr policies are but he clearly supports bitcoin so I will be finding out what they are image

What Bitcoin Did - Escaping Hyperinflation in a Rolls Royce with Freddie New In this podcast it was really interesting to learn about Freddie who is Head of Policy at Bitcoin Policy UK. I had heard of the Bitcoin Policy Institute in the US so it was great to hear we had something similar in the UK. #[0] and Freddie discuss how his childhood experiences living in Zimbabwe and Syria shaped his understanding of Bitcoin’s unique properties. This childhood that was a bit different! They also discuss his amazing efforts in setting up Bitcoin Policy UK, a new and much needed advocacy group promoting Bitcoin to policymakers and the wider public in the United Kingdom.

itcoin Rapid-Fire - Bukele, Bitcoin, & All You Need To Know About Relocating to El Salvador Great episode #[0]. Jeremy, the founder of 'Escape To El Salvador' explains what it is like to live in El Salvador and walks us through the process of becoming a resident. Very little regulation and red tape. No tax on income made outside the country and as bitcoin is legal tender it’s exempt from capital gains tax. I’m now seriously thinking about relocating.

Have a good look at the graphic in #[0] article. It is a great way to visualise the bank failures in 2008 and compare them to the bank failures in 2023. The 2023 bank failures have only just begun but are much bigger. Many, many more banks will fail in the next few years so Imagine what this graphic will look like at the end of 2025. This is bloody scary!

Argentina Bans Payment Apps From Offering Bitcoin to Customers With inflation at 104% Argentinians need to exit their financial system more than most and bitcoin offers a lifeline but Argentina’s central bank is trying to block that exit. It doesn’t matter what country you are from inflation like this is going to happen to you, it’s just a matter of time. All central banks have been doing the same thing, printing more and more currency. Understanding bitcoin privacy and acquiring no-kyc sats is essential to surviving crackdowns like this. As #[0] quite rightly reminds us regularly, you need to educate yourself on privacy tools before you need them so do it now. If you wait until you actually need them it will be too late.
