One of the reasons Satoshi didn’t use “+” and “/“ in addresses was so you could double click the address to copy it. 🤯 small usability decision that makes such a difference

Today I will learn about addresses!
Proof of work- standard transactions edition. There are 9 transaction output scripts (aka locking script or scriptPubkey) that the bitcoin core software considers standard and will relay to other nodes and mine. Here are some stats about their prevalence.

Hooked my dishwasher guy up with some bitcoin. If you would like to send a few sats: lnurl1dp68gurn8ghj7ampd3kx2ar0veekzar0wd5xjtnrdakj7tnhv4kxctttdehhwm30d3h82unvwqhkx6tkd9k8x6twvakx2dfhckl9e4
GM! East fork pottery is legit #coffeechain

Someone once exploited a big to generate 92 billion bitcoin. Good read here:

Anybody have the history about wha happened to bitcoin.org? Is it dumbass Craig Wright making things hard? A little frustrating when you see bitcoin.org not maintained. Then the fork of it (btcinformation.org) also not maintained
Going to learn about standard transactions today
Happy Easter! Not an artist 😂

Anybody have a dreams they want to share? I hope to have a cozy office space with a view of the mountains.

Fix the money, fix the world. Shout out to all the bitcoiners 🫂
Quinnipiac vs Michigan was a great hockey game. Those guys are so fast
GM. Going to try and take some of the nostr positivity into real life today
Garlic press is so much nicer than chopping it up into little pieces
As a learning exercise I wanted to get a sense for how often locktimes are used in transactions. Locktimes specify the earliest time a transaction can be mined (with the small caveat that I’m ignoring rn). It is a really cool field because it can represent a time based on the block height or the unix time. I wrote a script to connect to my node and get some locktime stats from 11 blocks (783814-783824) so here are the very simple stats!
Total transactions: 33,468
85% have a locktime of 0
15% nonzero
99.97% that were non zero used block height (as opposed to Unix time)
There are so many rabbit holes to go, and was often distracted by different questions that would come up, but I’m proud of this!
Got stuck in an unproductive vortex today. Hope tomorrow will be better. I want to come up with some stats regarding lock times in transactions
It’s hard to stack sats. Keep grinding
Bitcoin helps me value things. Excited to spend some to visit my family
Realizing that they are so many people across the world learning, working, using bitcoin. It’s really hard for me to comprehend what follows from this. Something to ponder
CHECKLOCKTIMEVERIFY, as defined in bip-65, is an op code I need to really internalize to understand lightning
