U.S. official on Trump to Axios:
This isn't 3D chess, it's 12-dimensional.
He contradicts himself regularly, so nobody knows what he's thinking. It's on purpose.

Marco Rubio:
Iran has been doing this for 47 years. We know what this regime is all about. I always say Iran—let me be clear, I'm not talking about the people of Iran. The people of Iran don't even like this government or this regime. This is a regime that is led by radical Shia clerics, by people who believe that it is their calling. I know this sounds fantastical, but it's absolutely true.
This is a regime led by people who believe that it is their calling and their purpose in life to usher in the end of the world. These people want nuclear weapons. Why do we know that? Because they are assembling all the things you need for nuclear weapons. They're assembling long-range rockets that can eventually reach the United States, can already range Europe. We saw them demonstrate two of them last week, despite denying that they had them.
They enriched uranium to 60%. As you pointed out a moment ago, from 60% to 90%, which is what you need for a bomb, takes 12 to 14 days. They bragged about still having that. They demand the right to enrich, which is how you get from 60% to 90%. They're the leading sponsor of terrorism, not in the region, in the world.
U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio: "We’re well on our way and ahead of schedule on each of our objectives. We can see the finish line. Our military is achieving our objectives with extraordinary efficiency, something that I think will go down in history as one of the best-run tactical military operations in modern times."
Reporter: “Today, gas prices hit $4”
Trump: “Yeah, it hit $4 and we’re not going to have a country throwing nuclear weapons at us.”
Reporter: “Americans are feeling the effects”
Trump: “They’re also feeling a lot safer… prices will go back down when we leave”

President Trump: U.S. operations have set Iran back 15–20 years, claiming destruction of its military, telecoms, and leadership. “It doesn’t matter whether they come or not… they have no navy, no air force, no anti-aircraft systems. Their leaders are all gone. That’s why we have regime change.”
Reuters: "Explosions heard on Tuesday in Bujumbura, Burundi's commercial capital, were caused by an electrical short-circuit at an ammunition store in a military camp, an army spokesperson said. Images shared on social media showed the explosions, including rising smoke and a distant fire. Reuters could not independently verify the authenticity of these pictures."

Trump: “We’ll be leaving very soon… what happens in [Hormuz] we’ll have nothing to do with”
Other countries can “fend for themselves” if they want gas or oil from the Persian Gulf.
President Trump: "I have a lot of powers to do things. We use the powers where appropriate. They're a little severe, and then people accuse me of being a king."
