Installed Linux Mint Debian Edition on a Dell Latitude E5540 laptop for a customer. Replaced the slow HDD with an SSD, upgraded from 8GB to 16GB memory. It's working great. Will extend the usefulness of this laptop for a quite a while. #Linux

Been working on a thermal cleaning for an ASUS laptop. Cleaned all the sticky gunk out of the heat sink and fans. Reapplied thermal paste. It still revs up loud, but I know it is cooling properly. I'll have to find a way to adjust the fan settings in software, as there isn't a place to do that in the BIOS.

I've had to deal with these issues with Microsoft Bitlocker recently. Looks like it will be getting worse.

Microsoft OneDrive is such a pain to work with. In addition to Microsoft being able to look at an analyze your files, the syncing and interface for working with OneDrive is confusing. I'm helping get a customer's data off one drive and saved locally. There's not enough room on his little HP Stream laptop (only 64GB of storage that is not replaceable or upgradeable). There's no way to just download all the files from the web interface. Have to jump through hoops to manually set the OneDrive folder to an external drive and then force OneDrive to download all the files to that. But it'll crash if uploading and downloading at the same time and it is making " - Copy" versions of all the files and uploading with no way to stop it that I can see. So I have to wait. Please don't use OneDrive. Save yourself some headache.
