James, this crystal conservatory was inspired by London’s Crystal Palace with high ceilings and 25,000 square feet of naturally bright, open space. The Crystal Garden was a popular social centre in Victoria for decades and a celebrity haunt in its heyday. In later years, the space was home to exotic animals, tropical gardens, and a saltwater pool before re-opening in its present form as part of the Victoria Conference Centre.
