As punishment, he was commanded to clean the latrines of the barracks. Humbly accepting this, he performed the task, viewing it as an act of service to God. After a week of imprisonment and further attempts to sway him, Dassie was beheaded on November 20, 304 AD, remaining faithful to his Lord until his last breath.
