The Holy Trinity, indivisible and one, Creator of all that exists. Before time began, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit existed in perfect unity, a divine mystery beyond human comprehension. At the appointed time, the Father sent His only begotten Son into the world, conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. Jesus Christ, fully God and fully man, lived a sinless life, performed miracles, and ultimately offered Himself as a sacrifice for the sins of humanity. Through His death and resurrection, He conquered death and opened the way to eternal life. The Holy Spirit, proceeding from the Father, empowers believers, guides them into truth, and unites them with Christ. Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, now and forever. Amen.

The Martyrs Claudius, Castor, Sempronian, and Nicostratus were skilled sculptors, favored by Emperor Diocletian to create pagan idols. Witnessing Saint Symphorian's steadfast faith during his martyrdom, they were moved to embrace Christianity. Renouncing their craft, they destroyed the idols they had fashioned, proclaiming Christ as the only true God. Their defiance enraged the emperor, who subjected them to brutal tortures. Unwavering in their belief, they endured their suffering with courage and were ultimately drowned at sea. May their example inspire us to stand firm in our faith, even in the face of adversity. Let us pray that, through their intercession, God grants us the strength to resist temptation and remain true to His word.

In 1821, during the Wallachian uprising, Gregory IV faced immense pressure from both the revolutionaries and the Ottoman authorities. Despite the danger, he remained steadfast in his pastoral duty, attempting to mediate and protect the population from violence. When the revolutionaries, led by Tudor Vladimirescu, entered Bucharest, Gregory IV used his authority to negotiate, seeking to prevent bloodshed and maintain order. However, his efforts were complicated by the political turmoil and the conflicting interests of the various factions. Ultimately, Gregory IV was arrested and sent to Kotiani, Macedonia, due to accusations of supporting the Greek revolutionaries.
