The largest @White Noise simulation group on a single computer with many virtual machines is at around 200 members, without a fork! Things are getting slow at that scale, so we're working on speed improvements and it's not a real test in production on different phones, but quite encouraging numbers.

GitHub api rate limits are insufferable. #ngit is 100x better, you can just get ALL git metadata locally and browse through instantly and without constant network access.

White Noise is now my most-used app, and in practice it has become the app that builds apps. I dictate a bug to Hermes in the same chat, the APK comes back there, I install it on my phone, and I keep testing until the behavior changes, which is why the upcoming release has me genuinely excited. Free software lets rival manufacturers test and ship improvements to the same security-critical foundations, turning competition into an additional review system. Coldcard benefited from that freedom, restricted it when a competitor did the same, then introduced a catastrophic seed-generation defect while replacing the shared GPL code it wanted gone, years before anyone noticed.
