I also know that I'm fiat-poor, and the dogma of internet personalities doesn't pay the bills. The contradiction at the heart of the matter is that those who are fiat-rich, well invested in real estate and equities and all manner of financial instruments of the fiat regime, who can afford to never sell and just stack ad infinitum, are actually massively short Bitcoin, whereas filthy ticker-watching, order book-keeping, stablecoin-tainted plebs like me, with minimal fiat exposure and the majority of our wealth in Bitcoin, are massively long. Not that I'm proud of it, or would preach that others should gamble on volatility. Bitcoin is freedom, and I just love what it does to undermine fiat world to the benefit of humble chumps like me.

Damn, disappointed that Alby Hub's lightning channel is "use it or lose it". I'd heard complaints that it was, but thought "we'll see how it goes and hope for the best". Well, looks like the channel closed and the 20K sats, which I thought I spent to ensure my future ability to zap and be zapped, got pissed away into the ether. I know it's technically my fault for not being vigilant enough, but can't users expect things to "just work"? I guess not at this stage, but eventually, if there is ever going to be wider adoption, there needs to be redundancy and resilience built-in in order to overcome users' frustration with technical limitations.
