Since I joined nostr for real months ago I've been hosting my own personal relay. nostr:nprofile1qythwumn8ghj7un9d3shjtnwdaehgu3wvfskuep0qyghwumn8ghj7mn0wd68ytnhd9hx2tcpramhxue69uhkummnw3ez6un9d3shjtnyv4ex26mjdaehxtndv5hsz9thwden5te0wfjkccte9ejxzmt4wvhxjme0qyt8wumn8ghj7mn0wd68yetvd96x2uewdaexwtcqyqlhwrt96wnkf2w9edgr4cfruchvwkv26q6asdhz4qg08pm6w3djgvtd0dj recommended me to take a look at Haven from nostr:nprofile1qyfhwumn8ghj7am0wsh82arcduhx7mn99uq32amnwvaz7tmjv4kxz7fww468smewdahx2tcpr3mhxue69uhhyetvv9ujucnfw33k76twwpshy6ewvdhk6tcpzamhxue69uhky6t5vdhkjmn9wgh8xmmrd9skctcpzamhxue69uhkzarvv9ejumn0wd68ytnvv9hxgtcqyr3vea70ypqr70e2ff2mx28smca78p2c5l2lxd3jlk4wl3exc8ywk94lcx6 and I really liked so I've been running Haven since then.
As I love NixOS and run my self hosted services on NixOS VMs I created a package and module to Haven and today I want to share it with you: https://github.com/karlprieb/haven-nix
I'm running Haven with this Nix package and module for more than a month and I can say it's stable ;) Is still missing some module tests, but there's plenty of options to configure your relay.
If you run NixOS and want to host your own relay I recommend my module :)
Feel free to request new module options and open issues if you find some.

Any specific reason a client like Primal doesn’t connect to my personal #haven relay?
All other clients can connect to it.
#asknostr #primal
#asknostr is there a good iOS client for notes and long form posts that have blossom integration?
I know #olas have and I’ve been using it for my photos.
Can someone recommend some reading around self hosting what’s needed to be able to join lightning network and a fully custodial wallet with a “fixed” (is that right?) to receive and send zaps?
I’m a lightning noob ☺️

Primal is my favorite nostr app on iOS 😊
nostr:npub12vkcxr0luzwp8e673v29eqjhrr7p9vqq8asav85swaepclllj09sylpugg is there any plans to add support to Blossom or NIP-96 at some point?
Hey! 👋
Another #introduction post for you to scroll through.
I’m Karl, a software engineer (just a developer) working at ar.io, where we’re building a decentralized network of #Arweave gateways.
I’ve always been into decentralized and P2P software. I gave Nostr a try before, but at that time, I didn’t fully see all the possibilities it has now. When I first tried it about a year ago, I liked how it worked, but it felt like it was full of Bitcoin people, and I’m not really into it. Nothing against it. I’m even using Primal wallet now, and I bought some sats so I can zap around like a cool guy! 😎
This time around, though, it’s a totally different experience. There’s so much more happening now! More people are building cool apps and features, there’s way more content to check out, and honestly, it feels like home.
What really draws me to Nostr is the freedom it offers. Being able to consume what I want, host my own content, distribute it to other relays, experiment with different kinds of content, and keep things simple, it’s all super exciting to me 😄
Beyond building decentralized software, I’m really into self-hosting. I run my own services for personal stuff, like file storage, DNS servers for my domains, and even my own Arweave gateway. In fact, I’m already hosting my own personal Nostr relay and thinking about building a Blossom and/or NIP-96 server to store data in Arweave.
Oh, and I have pet snakes! 🐍 So expect some #snake #pet pics from me every now and then.
That’s all for now, thanks for reading!
