I don't know who needs to hear this, but eCash is not any worse than any other form of custodial Bitcoin. It may not be any better either. That's debatable. But it's certainly not any worse. Everything that is less than ideal about eCash is equally true about other forms of custodial Lightning.

And when I say easy, I do mean ridiculously easy. We're talking: 1. Install from app store. 2. Open the app and choose "simple configuration." 3. Paste in your npub and add your username. 4. Save changes and click "Restart Now." That's it! Relay up and running. You can add other optional configuration if you want, such as blastr and import relays, but that's not required. From there, you just need a reverse proxy setup, and Umbrel has Nginx Proxy Manager to make that easy, too.

Don't worry, I will definitely throw that 100k sats your way, sir, if this thing does what I am hoping. Here's what I am looking for: - Installable on Umbrel from a community app store. - All .env configuration done from a GUI. - Full Haven relay features working. That means all four relay types + Blossom server, with note import, blastr on the outbox, etc. - Can expose the relay via Tor or reverse proxy with Nginx at minimum, preferably also via Tailscale MagicDNS. If achieved, this would open it up to MANY more people running their own Haven relay, keeping Nostr decentralized and censorship resistant.
