stablecoins may strengthen demand for USD as Paul Ryan said, but they do so at the expense of your ability to control capital flows just sayin…

has anyone made a “github contributions”-like visualization for nostr note writing? 🤔 image

“With Ditto, users of Nostr can use Donald Trump's preferred web interface to chat on Nostr — or, customize the design of the client to match your own vibe!” A++ trolling the haterz, @Alex Gleason 😝

If you’re just learning about it’s good to start with the structure as described by @PABLOF7z “Anyone can edit Anyone can fork There is no canonical entry for any topic Use WoT to make sense of it” Wikipedia: find consensus among a small group of admins on a neutral-point-of-view of “the facts” about a subject Wikifreedia: everyone shares their point of view about a subject assembled around a hub for easier evaluation by the reader wikipedia used to seem bottoms-up/internet-native compared to Encyclopedia Britannica, but given the complexity of the world and the nuance required to learn about any subject we need something new

I noticed “E-cash disrespectoor” in your bio @captain ☦️ I’m still trying to form an opinion. I had a call with someone yesterday who shared some skepticism on eCash with me. Can you tell me more about your view?

I don’t identify as a communist, but… after understanding bitcoin, I find non-bitcoin property rights kind of arbitrary

I’ve got a weird idea for a new nostr social media app. Probably the simplest first-time UX ever. 1. Show 10 curated notes which are interesting for some reason (got a lot of zaps, good topic for a newcomer, well-known author, about a current event, etc.) 2. Instruct the user to pick their favorite note of the 10. 3. Include another 10 notes based on some characteristic which distinguished the note they choose (topic of the note, replies to the note, other notes from the same author, etc.) 4. Goto step 2 After a dozen or so iterations of this you know topics/people that are active on nostr that this new user is interested in without any explicit topic selection or people following. Store the clickstream (signed) on a relay so other clients could use this data to build upon it. Maybe never bother with the concept of following? idk, wdyt?

when a new person signs up for nostr, what do you think they are expecting to find?

you are a product tester here on nostr. don’t assume you’re doing something wrong just because an app isn’t working as you expect. document issues you’re having and share with the developers. even just tag developers in a note to ask questions. View quoted note →
