image Becoming a Vegan after years of relying on animal products can be a difficult process. I failed on my first attempt several years back, but am trying again armed with some better information about nutritional elements missing from a Vegan diet and how to get them through other means. I also discuss some of the reasons I'm personally choosing to be Vegan.

image Anarchy is a term which in the modern era is almost always used incorrectly. Most believe it to mean chaos or the lack of order, but in truth it simply means without masters or rulers. In other words, Anarchy means the absence of slavery (i.e. a state of freedom).

image I was recently asked to to describe the various types of water filters available out there, and how I feel about each of them.

image I've been having a lot of issues with flat tires while riding around on my Fat Tire Solar eBike in the Southwest United States, and have been experimenting with ways to solve the problem. In this video I demonstrate how I converted my tires to a tubeless puncture resistant setup, despite the fact that my rims are not tubeless ready, by cutting open a tube to be used as a rim liner.

image I was recently asked the question, What’s the most significant / important thing you hope to convey to the world? This is something I've been asking myself for awhile now, and I love that someone thought to ask me about it.

image Today on Ask Cahlen I will be answering the question, What is a Codependent Relationship? I have a lot of personal experience with Codependency, and I've mostly come out of my tendency to fall into it, so I'm glad to have the opportunity to share my thoughts on how to notice it in your relationships and what to do about it.

image A friend of mine on the Steem Blockchain asked me to answer the question, How do I achieve financial freedom when living away from big cities? This topic comes at a perfect time for me, as I have been transitioning away from the use of banks, and am just now reaching the point where this goal is coming to be for me.

image A friend of mine was diagnosed with Guillain Barre Syndrome a few days ago. I didn't know much about it other than the fact that is was a rare auto-immune disease, so I decided to thoroughly research the topic and share what I discovered.

image I'm starting up a new video series called 'Ask Cahlen'. I've been wanting to start sharing the knowledge I've been picking up now that I have a lot more free time, energy and desire to learn. This first episode is an introduction to the series itself.

image Let me show you how I grind rice, lentils, vegetables and spices into a fine powdered mix which can be quickly cooked in camp for a delicious hot and hearty meal. It's also light and compact in my backpack and feeds me for days... the perfect healthy vegan survival dinner!

image A friend has been recommending I explore the Gila National Forest in New Mexico for awhile now, and I finally got the chance. I'm glad I did because there was so much to see! Come along as Jeremiah the Nomad Man and I explore this area for the first time on our bikes.

image Last January there was a Super Blue Blood Moon, which won't happen again for another 19 years, and I was lucky enough to spend it at Indian Bread Rocks.

image When I left my job and home to be nomadic in January 2018 the first place I stopped and stayed for more than a single night was in the hills around Lake Havasu Arizona. It was the first time in my life where I finally felt free, and so I hold a lot of sentimentality for this place.

image I stopped in a cactus forest for a few nights to rest and absorb some sun. There is a large of variety of cacti here, so if you see something you know the name of, please let us know!

image After spending the night in the abandoned Delamar Mine in Nevada, I came across an old cemetery while driving out. I had been wondering just how old the mine was, and figured the headstones would help solve that mystery.

image Living nomadically has its risks, so I spend a decent amount of time implementing backup plans for worst scenarios. I like to think about this topic in terms of Fractals, which are systems with patterns which repeat themselves as you examine the individual components.

image As a nomad, I’m always on the lookout for new and interesting places to camp and explore. During my migration back to the Southwest United States for the Winter I came across a ruined mine in the Nevada desert while browsing freecampsites.net, and knew I had stop there for a few nights.

image I'm on my way back South for the Winter. Seattle is great during the Summer, but it's hard to resist the call of the Arizona deserts when the rains of the Pacific Northwest set in. One of my first stops was in the wilds of Nevada. A lone road stretches for miles through the middle of nowhere. I pull off into the brush to rest for the night, and do a little exploring before I retire.

image In this episode of Speak Freely TV we are joined by Liz Crain the owner and operator of Leafhopper Farm, a small demonstration Permaculture Farm in the Pacific Northwest. Liz and Cahlen discuss the state of our soil and water, how it affects our health, how it got that way and what we can do about it.

image Water is a daily necessity for us all, and when you're living nomadically you often have to get creative about where you're finding it. My favorite spot is from streams or other running water sources, but there is still the problem of microbes to deal with.
