Violinist and teacher, building a homestead on raw land in between lessons and concerts. Fascinated by how we can develop resilience in our lives, in our families, in our communities. I'm excited about freedom tech and circular economies, and am deeply grateful for the devs and advocates who are helping build tools for a better future.
GM, Nostr! In the last few years, my husband (who's amazing in his professional field but had no experience with homesteading) has learned the fundamentals of keeping us housed, fed, and warm - with his own hands and largely from the resources on our land. 🤩 image
As usual, Trump takes the normal politician playbook - vote for me, and I'll give you free stuff!! - and makes it more blatant and crass than I would have thought possible. 🤦‍♀️ Ok, back to the things I can actually control: we're building out our firewood storage today and cutting more planting rings for silvopasture trees (chestnuts, mulberries, apples). Very satisfying.
There was so much craziness re Covid, but one thing with profound implications for everything around the vaccine was the timing of someone being considered "vaccinated." For the mRNA jabs, you weren't considered fully vaccinated until 2 weeks after your second shot. Most side effects are concentrated in the days immediately after vaccination, so all thing things that happened in that window - covid cases - covid deaths - strokes - heart attacks - (etc) were attributed to someone being unvaccinated (or partially vaccinated). It's hard to overstate the effect of this on the statistics around the effectiveness of the shots. Basically most of negative effects of the shots are falsely attributed to the lack of them.
