Violinist and teacher, building a homestead on raw land in between lessons and concerts. Fascinated by how we can develop resilience in our lives, in our families, in our communities. I'm excited about freedom tech and circular economies, and am deeply grateful for the devs and advocates who are helping build tools for a better future.
I don't agree with Abigail Shrier on everything but I think her work on kids and therapy is excellent. This horrifying excerpt is from her most recent Substack: image The context is new state law in Illinois that put into place health screenings for all public school kids from 3rd to 12th grade. I believe the school questionnaire, which is different from the one above, was generously created by Pfizer (maker of the very lucrative antidepressant Zoloft and also of Pristiq for adults, which *increases* suicidal ideation "especially in young adults" according to their own studies).
I've been experimenting with short (30-ish hour) dry fasts. I've water fasted in the past, and this is definitely different. No hunger, no weird electrolyte imbalance issues, but way lower energy! It's like everything's normal - I feel totally fine - but I'm running at something like 75% capacity. The day after each dry fast, my energy and mood are insane. As in, randomly dancing around while talking with my husband because it's just too hard to stand still. I think this continues for a few days but the first day is most pronounced. Autophagy on dry fasting is supposed to be amazing. I don't have anything in particular to heal but I like the idea of it as a consistent health protocol. @jack mallers posted about fasting recently (and mentioned that he doesn't like dry fasting) Anyone with fasting experience care to share? #fasting
With all the vlogs, we're seeing lots of cool content ๐Ÿ’œ Also learning that we have not yet reached consensus on whether it's No-str or Naw-str
