Quaker Lobby Calls for De-Escalation and Restraint Between Israel and Iran
FCNL is deeply concerned that Iran’s recent retaliatory strikes on Israeli territory, following Israel’s unlawful attacks on its diplomatic facility in Syria in early April, will only fuel more war, bloodshed, and regional instability. War is not the answer and another round of retaliation strikes by any party to the conflict will only further inflame the region and drive more violence.

"May we look upon our treasures, and the furniture of our houses, and the garments in which we array ourselves, and try whether the seeds of war have nourishment in these our possessions."
~ John Woolman, #Quaker
"I expect to pass through this world but once. Any good, therefore, that I can do or any kindness I can show to any fellow creature, let me do it now. Let me not defer or neglect it for I shall not pass this way again."
~ Stephen Grellet, French-American Quaker missionary
"Do not meddle in political parties or matters, but seek for the truth and righteousness of the Lord to be established in the earth."
- Stephen Grellet, French-American Quaker missionary
“We will not build a better world by killing other people’s children…It’s time for us to turn up the volume for an immediate and permanent ceasefire and an end to all the violence.”

#QuakerDear friends! The light hath shown upon me these 3 months since I took to using Nostr. Many openings have come through connecting with fellow seekers. I thank thee all!
Truth is simpler than you think.
Some of my current notions about God:
* God does not exist as a separate entity, yet is always present as the ground of being.
* God is not an old man in the sky, but the ineffable source of existence.
* God is beyond rational understanding or language. Attempts to define or describe God intellectually are limited and mistaken.
* God is not separate from the universe or nature. The universe itself, here and now, is an expression of God.
* God is not purely spiritual or material. God transcends and includes both spirit and matter.
* God is not a singular force, but the coming together of all things and experiences.
* Experiencing God means being fully present and awake to each moment.
* #Quaker worship + meditation help to strip away limiting thoughts to connect with God.
* God is both personal and impersonal, knowable yet ultimately mysterious.
* God is love, silence, action and stillness all at once.
* Morality is an expression of God's order in the universe. A good life involves living in harmony with this moral order.
* Faith means trusting the ground of being, committing to what is true, not blind belief.
* Doubt and skepticism are necessary counterparts to faith. They keep you grounded and out of cults.
Jesus
Sermon on the Mount, "The Beatitudes "
Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.
Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.
Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.
Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.
Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.
Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.
~ Matthew 5:3-12 (KJV)
