It turns out Borodin and Ramius were talking about Bitcoin.

5AM BERRY PICKING LETS GOOOOO!!!
Yesterday the dog got me up at 1:30 to use the bathroom, and because my brain is such a nice guy that was it for sleep for me. So at 5 I got the dog up (he wasn’t very happy about it, too bad for him!) and we went up the hill for sunrise to beat the heat.
The trees are so thick with berries that the branches are leaning over. You can grab clusters of them that fill your hand.
We didn’t pick a huge amount as we needed to be back in time to make pre-work coffee for Tassie. Pippin signalled it was time to go with his widened bulldog stance and a stare, and back down the hill we went. Didn’t stop me from grabbing drive-by handfuls for breakfast as we walked past more bushes…
Inspiration hit after a nap and the Sawmill Creek Cottages Cookbook came out for a muffin recipe. I could have gone heavier on the butter (isn’t that always?) and the papers weren’t cooperative (I’m going to try some expensive ones next time for comparison) but the fresh saskatoons still pulled their weight.
10/10 will try to get up the hill at least once more this season.

My favourite quote from this article: "Everyone deserves to be able to buy a $1.50 hotdog and drink if they're broke"
No, no they don't. Also, per-meal a bag of rice and a glass of water will be cheaper and healthier.
I don’t know why I didn’t think of this ‘till now. It would solve a lot of my problems.

Saskatoon season!

GUYS GUYS GUYS!
My “local” (3h / 250km away) Costco has beef tallow! Definitely not cheap, and I still want to try making it myself (I haven’t been able to source fat), but available means normie exposure means more available.

“our threat models are likely different :)”
I cannot scream this loud enough. Different solutions for different threat models! Not everybody’s Nostr setup needs to be nation-state-attack-proof! Hell not even my fiat banking needs anything beyond basic MFA.

I feel the same way about things like wrench attacks and complex inheritance situations. If you’re in the situation you have bigger problems than your bitcoin (or fiat).
That being said, you might be surprised how often the most effective solution to many of these problems is having a gun 🤷♂️

First bitcoin transaction selling cold-brew coffee at the local farmers market! Tiny town in northern Canada. New things typically take a long time to catch on here, so this is exceptional!

Evergreen post. Nothing ever changes.

I’ve put money on nothing happening. With the new rules a referendum is easier to trigger but 50+% of the vote is still required to pass a referendum, and more than that lives in the major centers. Good luck, and I hope you prove me wrong 🫡

Users reported intermittent internet slowdowns. Suspected wireless backhaul to building. During physical inspection noticed 110v electric fan running nearby. Network cable feeding AP ran within 12 inches of the motor. Turned off fan, internet speeds increased, no user complaints since. Will either reroute the cable or move the fan.
Always 👏 check 👏 layer 1 👏
Thanks to some hardcore fomo and nostr:npub1k8s3skyy5mg5h07w8zvuk5lgrqadmejz7fjdpl60zaznw8sxzdxqxm6y88, I am now mining bitcoin!

What’s the encrypted messaging system/service du jour? I’ve been using Element / Matrix self-hosted but it doesn’t seem to be much of an ecosystem with Element kinda soloing the whole thing.
