Hadn't rained in the last few hours so must have pooled somewhere and when the #MegaVan got to rocking, small line of water started a trickling down one of the walls. Had to investigate by pulling down all the good works I'd stuck in place but it dried up before I could track it. Investigations continue...

#MegaVan Update: 14 It's been cold! And I couldn't get the heater working. 230v fused spur checks out, 12v feed to control panel and unit seems fine but won't initiate... Could be the comms cable, getting another to test. Celotex Insulation completed, but the rails and aluminum edge transfers heat to the outside and visa-versa so filling all gaps with expanding foam & lining the whole ceiling with silverfoiled bubble wrap! Whilst I waited for the foam to cure, I fitted a bead to the window frame and placed the sun/fly screen. Not too shabby! Let's hope the insulation works it's magic, as it's a clear sky and the temperature is dropping again. 🥶🥶🥶

MegaVan Update: 13 230v EHU positioned through the insulation and wall covering attached. Tricky cladding around the window done #MegaVan is coming together. Nipped my finger between the boards. Didn't cry. Honest. 😢 Need to address something. Was sent a message telling to change my t-shirt. I have several yellow #CobraKai t-shirts, which have now become my work wear. Even though, with jeans, it been remarked that I look like a #Minion!

Caught finger skin today and gave myself a bit of a blister? Throbs a bit. Should I burst it?

MegaVan Update: 11 2 days of unpacking into storage! I envisage many days of car booting & ebay'in We've sooo much crap it's unbelievable! I see a massive conversation into #sats in coming! Tomorrow the #MegaVan will get nested into its permanent standing. 😁

MegaVan Update: 10 WE'VE MOVED OUT OF OUR PERMANENT HOME. Yesterday we collected the #MegaVan (sans Taillift atm) and loaded up with all our possessions and drove 250miles to our semi-final destination. FAQ Is the #MegaVan ready for living in? No. No where near. 😭 Where are you living then? Roadside motel for a short time. How's it drive? Like a brick through custard! But she's a beast! and I only had to crawl up a hill at 35mph once. I have to keep in mind, she's got a bid ass and loves to swing it about! 🤣🤣🤣 Tbh I've already had a light collision with the yard gate post and scratched the side! What a dufus!

MegaVan Update: Day 10, 11 & 12 The Big Push. Then Failure. But we have a plan. Whilst the 3x Windows, Habitation Door & skylights are now in, it's lept ahead no end. Insulation is on 3 main walls. And I've even got 1 wall fully boarded with electric cables run for reading lights. But progress now has to stop whilst We focus on relocating and moving out and putting everything either up for sale, into storage or into the MegaVan for when we actually move in. It's going to be a few fun stress filled few days ahead. To be continued...

MegaVan Update: 9 Regogy can go fk themselves! I'm not wasting another breath on them! Gonna get my good friend Andy and introduce him to the MegaVan! Today we're going to put in the last window and complete the insulation! God willing! Took a few good tools but we got there.

Couldn't sleep and was up before the Sun this morning. Then, it suddenly dawned on me.

MegaVan Update: Day8 Bit of background and reasoning for the MegaVan. Currently renting but it's too damn expensive, and in the wrong location as we would like our daughter to go to college in another county (4 counties away!) Couldn't find a rental in the area and wasn't eligible to buy (straight up mortgage or shared ownership) even though we could afford a deposit.!?! Started looking at static caravans, mobilehomes and finally settled on converting a 7.5t box lorry into a habitable dwelling. We've found a serviced place to park it only 10 minutes from the college! And for half what rent or mortgage costs! It was a no-brainer, the only difficulty was we've gotta downsize, a house of personal affect to clear, a MegaVan to build and a relocation in less than a few weeks!!! Some think we're mad, crazy or insane but many have shown support and lent a hand where they could. And the help keeps coming from complete strangers and friends of these now new friends, who all sympathise with our dilemma. Thanks for reading this. I'll keep posting and updating until I stop getting likes ❤️ Today I cut 2 holes in the side and installed a door & another window!

MegaVan Update: Day8 WTAF Renogy! 1st you cancelled my order and said you didn't know when stock would be available. So would I like a refund? Yes, I replied. Nothing for 24hrs... Then, You asked 'are you sure you want it refunded?' Me: For clarity, Yes please, immediately. Another 24hrs... Renogy: Oh that'll be with you in 7-10 business days... (what an outfit! Glad I didn't go with them after all.) 24hrs later... Renogy: "Order shipped!" - 2 emails so far telling me it's shipped! For The whole order!!! God knows what's going on... Only time will tell. 🙄 Oh and floor insulation is down, batterned and boarded. Spent this afternoon sizing and positioned for 1st Window, internal bedroom wall and external habitation door, all marked ready for drilling, cutting and fitting. Exciting time ahead. 😁

MegaVan Update: Day7 Floor insulation and top is nearly finished but... Got majorly shafted by Renegy on my solar solution. Placed an order for 300watts of flex panels, controller, inverter, leisure batteries and all manner of other bits. Paid and order receipt received all in about 30 seconds. Well excited! Hours later a Support Email came through, No Stock available and I'd be refunded in 7-10 days!! Why even have products on a website if they're not even available FFS! It's like they don't even know what's in their warehouse! Can't commit to purchasing another solution elsewhere as funds locked up now...😭😭 Good job all the windows & door turned up. That'll keep me busy!
