In the not too distant future, we will forgo words completely and only speak in abbrievations: GM, HAY? WYCTMBBQ? OM? IOMWTFYB.
Why is fucking around hard to stop doing? Any evolutionary psychologists have any input?
Why are some people seemingly obsessed with owning other human? Or gene editing them into mindless serfs? Curious.
Would be interested to see self-hosted services for nostr get made. For example, lets say I don't want to run a relay. But I do want to host my own media (images, audio, video, etc) I can run a simple service instead that I can point my client to that the client will upload my media to. Then the service returns a link. Kind of like imgur does in some of the clients.
I propose NIP-500 Event 1000, propose marriage via nostr On clients I'm visualizing something like this, which I will describe to you now via the written word *ping ting* (notification sound) "User npub100000000000000000000 wants a marriage with you" (notification content) "Yes,yes a thousand times yes" or "I just like you as a friend" (button choices) #letmeseeyourNIPs
This is one reason I still hang with them. They will go in on other currencies and/or Bitcoin. And every time I realize they exist in an echo chamber, they don't even spend any time around any Bitcoin crowds. Being around that kind of mentality serves as a constant reminder that I need to stay humble and seek out the facts the best I can. Otherwise, any time I talk about this stuff I'll be full of shit. I'll know it, everyone listening will know it.
I distinctly remembering at one point, where I even bother to talk about it: I said, "Bitcoin is great. it does one thing. Ethereum is trying to be everything" or something like that. One guy was like: "yeah, that's good" "What!?!", I thought. But also was the point I realized, or began to, that I don't even speak the same language.
Sometimes I wonder where I went wrong (or right, I suppose). All my tech buddies are all deep in Ethereum. Thankfully we never talk about it. But always fascinating how two people can look at the same information and arrive to different conclusions.
Can someone point me to some resources so I can learn my zero knowledge is overrated or not? #request_for_papers
