Just watched Goldfinger last night, now that the 007 movies have all been dumped onto Netflix. Really enjoying the Connery bonds for the elaborate geopolitical conspiracy plots (seems pretty relevant today, i.e. "the emails"), in addition to the great mid-century modern aesthetic, among other things. The nuclear device at the end of the movie is a "dirty bomb" intended to irradiate the gold supply in Fort Knox. This is its timer, which I had to look up afterwards and have become basically obsessed with... It's called a Nixie tube, each digit is a cold cathode discharge.
