"House of Guinness", the new series on Netflix about the 19th century succession battle to lead the brewery after the passing of its patriarch, got somewhat mixed reviews... Particularly, British and American critics seem to like it, but the Irish weren't too happy about it. Two episodes in, I can see why. The series is one of those historical fiction dramas that wants to be set in a particularly gritty place & time within the industrial revolution, yet everyone's walking around with clean faces, crisp clothes, and well-coiffed hair. Aside from that though, every Irish revolutionary conveniently walks around with some bright green coat or hat or other article of clothing, like they stepped off a Lucky charms box. In episode two one of the Irish Fenians, lamenting a poorly planned act of sabotage, actually says "I can't help it... My blood is too hot!!" ,🤣 #tv

It's supremely annoying that there are still companies out there that (a) require you to register with an email but (b) won't accept "+" and/or ProtonMail aliases as valid addresses 😠
