OK, Longform roundup continues... * #habla.news editing is offline indefinitely * #yakihonne doesn't do subtitles * #highlighter works pretty well, but won't let you use a URL for a cover image New additions: * Looks OK, but can't remove images, plus a few other random bugs * very bare-bones, barely functional for authoring 5 clients, each with some crippling bug 🤪#grownostr

I just wanted to write a long-form... #highlighter image uploads don't work, won't let you link either... #yakihonne doesn't see drafts made by other editors (Habla and Highlighter seem to work in this regard)... Also, maddeningly, doesn't seem to accept subtitles? And #habla doesn't work at all to edit "until further notice." How does @Gigi do it? Just vi edit markdown + JSON and send it to the server?

Wow SNL was crap last night... I don't expect much these days, but usually at least Weekend Update's good... The host seems to make a huge difference. Last week with Amy Poehler was great, but last night it was Sabrina Carpenter... It's rare to see a musical act that could pull off a consistent SNL hosting performance, and I didn't see an exception last night.

#asknostr Is the state of long-form editors kinda weak right now? Highlighter gives me a "402" error when I try to upload media, but also doesn't allow any way to link media for a cover image... Habla after their upgrade doesn't seem to work at all, I guess unless @verbiricha gets paid...?

I love all the "lesser" Godzilla movies made in the 60's and 70's.... Mothra, Ebira, Mechagodzilla, etc... Sure they've got the "big G man" in a rubber suit doing WWE moves, but half the movies are just groovy Japanese 70's intrigue involving scientists, intelligence agents, and aliens.

Interesting interview with Jimmy Wales on Wikipedia. I've had my gripes with them, particularly around the #ufo issue, but I do find that they're probably 90% right about 90% of stuff. What I find particularly interesting about them is they're sort of a holdover from the early internet, 00's, like Craigslist, that have resisted commercial commodification and still operate with a more-or-less decentralized ethos. Of course, #nostr is coming for them sooner or later, just like it's coming for all social media.

Is anyone else kinda annoyed by businesses (mostly eateries) that have a clear interior design concept, but then decide to "Halloween it up" by hanging up a bunch of generic Walmart cobwebs / ghost figures / random other Kitsch-spooky crap?

Good article on the current state of YouTube and its relationship with legacy content makers. I have to say that YouTube, at least as experienced through my Smart TV app, seems to have resisted "enshittification" more than other social media... In the sense that my feed still shows me, on average, content I'm interested in consuming.
