I am surprised that few can notice how impressive for a currency with limited usability and extreme volatility still is worth something, improving and growing. Because at one point, all the concerns one has about it will have been solved, and, as economists love to say, good money tends to drive out bad money. The Internet is still in need of its digital cash. So I enjoy seeing all the Ponzi schemers, con artists and grifters get their comeuppance, but would also love to see the crypto-Luddites to be proven wrong eventually. While everybody's too busy trying to build the next Twitter or shill their favourite shitcoin, I keep wondering what the anarchists of the XIX century would achieve, now that we have the Internet, smart contracts and #bitcoin It's time for free market #anarchism to be more than just pure academic theory. We got the technology now.

I still don't get Twitter, I do not enjoy Mastodon after the initial hype, but after a few hours with it I am pretty bullish about Nostr. The reason it's growing like crazy is that nerds like me can read and understand its protocol in an hour. And the next hour you're already building something on top of it. Simplicity is underrated.

I'm a software eng. I have a hardware wallet. Should I self host a Lightning node? Is it worth it to self host a Bitcoin node? I'm looking for a mix of convenience and security.

Question to all Millennials and younger generations: after seeing countless politicians lie to our faces about making our lives better, why would you still believe that voting is a civic duty? Why would you not see government as a net negative for humanity?
