There’s a famous story about Mark Twain. For all his brilliance, he was known to be harsh with his wife, and he would use his brilliance to respond harshly to her in creative ways. One day she had just had it, and repeated one of the things that he had said to her back to him. Twain looked at her with a wry smile and said, “You know the words, but you don’t know the tune.” Noah Gundersen knows the words and the tune. He meant every word that came out his mouth in this song. I’ve probably watched it 100 times, and I’m no less amazed now than the first time I saw it.
