UPDATE:: In 6 hours, Bitcoiners from all over the world have raised more than 300 donations totaling $8k+ US! When I got to the market today to visit Estela, she had no idea what was going on. I coordinated this with her daughter and she wanted it to be a surprise for her mom. We explained to her what we were doing, showed her the tweet, how many views it already had, and her interview. She was really excited to see the interview (this is a clip from an upcoming documentary). Finally, we asked her to open her Bitcoin wallet. There were millions of sats waiting for her. We explained these were donations from fellow Bitcoiners from every corner of the Earth. Everyone broke into tears, none of us could believe the outpouring of support. After a brief moment, Estela immediately started talking about the best uses for the money. Interestingly, none of them involved a structure for her to live in. She wanted to build things for the community. Her daughter quickly reminded her that maybe she needs a roof over her head with the rainy season coming. Estela replied that yes, while it will be nice to have a roof over her head tomorrow, she has quite enjoyed sleeping in a hammock at the beach. She will rebuild her modest home, and use whatever's left to give back to the community she cares about so much. Don't let anyone tell you Bitcoin doesn't have a use case. It's right here. As a mother of 6, she's been shot, beaten, arrested & jailed while defending her small farm in the countryside from multinational corporations looking to take her land. This 74 year old woman instinctually knew that Bitcoin is freedom money and she was all in from the very first day we met. Every week, she gladly sells the products of her farm for Bitcoin. She's a natural born HODLr. Just a couple weeks ago, she took in a family of Venezuelan migrants and provided them with shelter, food, clothes, medicine, anything they needed. Putting politics aside, she saw people in need and she gave with all her heart. In return, one of these migrants (while on drugs & alcohol), intentionally set fire to every structure on her little farm burning it to the ground. Then they disappeared. Ever since #nostrica, Bitcoin Jungle has been expanding faster than ever before. We’re seen sparks of interest in many other parts of the country. Hard to keep up with everything tbh. I just checked in on our map and saw like 30 new pins since y’all left.

Been working on #[0]​ all day today. Transportation, food, network. This is going to be one dope un-conference y’all.

A new gastropark opened up 100 meters from the Nostrica venue this week. 5 different food genres..steak, burgers, sushi, smoothies, healthy bowls & pizza, along with a bar and stage for live music.

In Miami on business for a few days. Maybe I’ve spent too long in the jungle but I just can’t relate to the big cities anymore. It feels so weird here. It’s like there’s a lot of stuff everywhere but it feels empty.
