Yesterday my best friends fiancé went in to have a tumor removed from his brain. It had been causing hearing loss and other unexplained symptoms, and was discovered by accident when a routine appendectomy had complications that caused him to flatline. The silver lining of that intense moment was discovering the tumor so it could be removed before additional, irreversible problems developed. The surgery took 14 hours, but it seems everything went as well as it could have gone. He’s got a lot of recovery ahead. I’ll say that these real world examples of things that at face value seem bad but over time prove to be a blessing are why I believe in a higher power. Even if I’m not so sure about religion itself. Miracles happen. 🙏

I think sometimes in life you have to just shuffle the deck of cards. Too much time is wasted waiting for things to happen. Make something happen, anything… if your heart is in the right place, it’s forward motion. Stagnant waters are dangerous. Habit is the nemesis of evolution. I am not a victim of change, I am the creator of it. I not only welcome it, but I also embrace it. With change comes wisdom, experience, growth. It’s up to you to shake it up, otherwise, you’re just letting life jolt you around as if you were sitting on a roller coaster too loosely strapped in. On a daily basis, we assume the world around us is the same place it was the day before, but that is never true. Every single thing changes, every single day. Everything alive will age, every human will experience something that will nudge or shape that which we are made of. Seeds are planted, leaves will fall. Floorboards become worn down after a hundred thousand footsteps over years of assuming the world is the same. It's not the same and neither are you. It’s not until the planks start to squeak that you’ll realize… time has passed. Carpe diem.
