Mastering human connection should take precedent over advancing technology. The former can inform the latter, more so than the other way around.

I'm a recovering idealist. I've habitually, and impossibly, lived against a projection of my ideal self. This was deliberate. Doing so allowed me to deflect responsibility for my own improvement. As in, if I can't achieve it, why bother? This led to hardship and, eventually, the adoption of a new outlook. Acceptance. You can't ascend without a foothold. And finding that point of contact requires looking at where you are, not where you think you aught to be.

The outcome of our time spent here will be either to the benefit or detriment of those that succeed us. Every thing, that every one of us does, matters. We reverberate off one another. We influence the path forward. It is not trivial. But beyond policy, technology, trade, knowledge... all of it... the one thing the next generation has going for it is that we, us, right now, remain optimistic.
