Adding sunflower seeds to you day as a snack is genuinely amazing. Taking time to place the seed and crack it with your teeth gets your mind off of stress. Unless you have a trash can nearby, you have to be careful to collect the shells to throw away later, forcing you to be mentally present. The seeds are rich in potassium, magnesium and vitamin E, nutrients many people are deficient of. They also have a passing amount of protein and fiber, which always help. Instead of consuming junk food, sugar and carbs, you're snacking on quality nutrients. They tend to come in all sorts of flavor varieties, and while unsalted are the best health-wise, the flavors can be amazing. My favorites would be the Taco Bell-inspired flavors from Big's. In general, I think people underestimate how good these things are for you as a healthy snack, a small mental health boost, and a nutrient augmentation. Similarly, pumpkin seeds are also great for you, especially the ones in the shell. They're a bit simpler since you can eat the shell, whereas sunflower seed shells aren't digestible, but it all depends on if you want that mental break or not.

I just narrowly avoided a disaster. I'm not sure how but apparently, when I was trying to do a backup with one of my redundant drives (which I hadn't run a backup with since late last year), all of my Obsidian vaults got rolled back to their state in late 2025. I use Obsidian as my primary notes and documentation hub for EVERYTHING, including professional matters. Had I lost this entire year's worth of notes and documentation, it would've been disastrous for me. Sure, I had other backup drives but for those vaults, I had started relying more on cloud syncing due to the fact that I need them on multiple devices. That means that the other backup drives might have had slightly more updated backups of the vaults, but not nearly as recent as I would've needed. That was a mistake on my part, but it also saved me. I was able to revert to a new version of the vaults, one as recently updated as yesterday. Everything is back to normal. I really need a better backup solution than just manually backing up files on external hard drives. I wish I had the money to set up a NAS solution, but I simply don't. This is all I've got for now. Nonetheless, I'm absolutely going to have to figure out something like that, and have cold storage redundancy, because had I not had this option to revert to the updated versions of these vaults, it would've destroyed so much progress I've made in my career, my home lab and life in general. #homelab #tech #techstr #disaster #backups

I could say it about a million times, but Strawberry Music Player is THE greatest piece of music-related software I've ever used in my life. I'm honestly shocked that we aren't seeing more chip manufacturers trying to spearhead major advancements in NPU tech. With the AI boom, we've seen the massive price hikes of RAM and storage costs, with some estimating that CPUs will be next. If we had these manufacturers looking to develop extremely advanced NPUs instead, not only would that make it potentially easier to have fully onboard AI even for basic LLM tasks, but it would also be a way to help avoid the potential supply shortage of CPUs if that, indeed, ends up being the next component that gets hit. 🤔

#asknostr I mentioned a few days ago that I've been having several issues with #Amethyst and now, it seems I'm having issues with zapping people. I added my NWC string to the wallets menu, but I keep getting an error saying I couldn't resolve the address I'm trying to zap to. Any ideas on how to fix this?

Something I really appreciate about Nostr vs. other social media experiences is that I actually feel like I get some level of engagement here. I don't get much on platforms like X because I refuse to be inauthentic and phony, playing the algorithmic game, entering subscription slavery and KYCing to receive payouts. On Nostr, I don't have to do any of that. I can simply post what's on my mind, have a fun time, and still get a decent amount of organic engagement and occasional payout because of zaps. I know that some people prefer a high-end agentic approach with their AI, and that's understandable, but for me? For me, Proton's Lumo has almost become my exclusive AI service at this point. Sure, I've had times where I needed to hop over to something a bit more advanced (Perplexity and Grok being my main fallbacks) but for most queries, I've really found that Lumo does everything I want it to, even with its (minimal) limitations on free users. Not quite as ideal as self-hosting but still, having that end-to-end encryption and ephemeral storage is much better than relying on Big Tech. #ai #aistr #proton #lumo #encryption
