Most #atheists have belief They have a belief system that they think is #science and is true And that what they believe is true and what everyone else believes is just a belief And most of them believe in the mechanistic #materialist world view But actually their world view is based on 10 central assumptions One is that nature is mechanical, a machine, not an organism It is inanimate, purposeless Another is that matter is unconscious The whole #universe is made of unconscious matter and therefore, there is no place for God, , spirits, angels Well, these are assumptions, not facts, not tested and proven by science They are just taken for granted The trouble with that is the very existence of #consciousness How can we have consciousness in a universe that atheists believe is entirely made of unconscious, inanimate matter? #Atheist says "If #God created the #universe, who created God?" #Believer says "Do you actually #believe that you came from the universe?" Atheist "Yes, of course, I came from the universe. I live in it. But, I don't believe it, I know it as a #fact. I don't need God to understand I came from the universe." Believer "OK. That's some pretty strong #faith you have there!" "As you strongly believe you came from the universe, where do you think the universe came from?" Atheist "1. There could be multiple universes giving birth to new universes and ours is just one of many. Or, 2. Our universe is the only one and has always existed. Or, 3. Ours is the only one and came from nothing in a big bang. I don't need God to explain it!!!" Believer "On point 1. But noone can see any other universes. There is no evidence for them at all. We only have evidence for this universe. You need strong faith to believe in something we have no solid evidence for." On point 2. Are you saying the universe could be #eternal? But how can the universe have been here forever? Think what that means. Going on forever and ever and ever. You need strong faith to believe that too. I believe God is eternal, outside of space and time. And that an eternal, timeless agent, God, is required to create the universe. But, I don't believe that the universe that God created is eternal in itself. On point 3. How can everything come from nothing? By definition, nothing would contain nothing! Not even invisible energy waves. But, everything we know about our universe says that every action has a reaction and every event or thing has a cause. But in a state of nothingness, there is nothing to cause a big bang! Again, that takes a lot of faith to believe. No, I believe that we actually need an eternal, timeless conscious agent, God to start and create the universe. God decided to cause it, make it happen. Not only that, but the #Bible says He created the heavens as well as the earth, ie. the whole universe that we see and the #spiritual dimensions that we mostly don't see. Everything was created by God!" So, the believer realised that the atheist had a huge amount of faith in invisible things without evidence that are impossible to prove.
