Criteria include custom domains, source availability and lock-in.
Addy.io came out on top, mainly for openness and no lock-in.

Brodie Robertson walks through the policy and the pushback.

Freedom Tech Friday 60 with @npub1ey6q...szvp from Breez.
Breez went from a Lightning wallet to the SDK behind bitcoin in apps like Cake Wallet, BitBox and Radar Chat. We get into the move from Liquid to Spark, why stablecoins shipped on top of bitcoin, and what it means for Breez to be a Spark operator.

ICANN published Wiz's application for a .bitcoin domain. Registration requires proof of work: run a node, operate a DNS seed, ship code, or teach. 21% of revenue funds open source.

Rob Braxman Tech builds a homelab server for about $1000 using Tailscale.
Your data lives at home instead of a provider's cloud. It doesn't cross a border sitting on your phone.
Worth a watch if you're looking to get off managed storage.

Mistral Large 4 is open weight in theory. The API is live today, but the weights are not due until late October. Until they land, it is a closed model with an open-weight press release.
