Day 32: #grownostr initiative The Spinach and Alyssum I sowed last weekend are sprouting. The spinach seed I purchased was on "tape." It made it super easy to plant the tiny little seeds. I just furrowed a row and unrolled the tape and covered the seed with soil. I'm super excited about the Alyssum--it smells so good. I've never used Alyssum as a companion plant, but I am hoping it will attract pollinators. On a side note: I've not seen any honey bees yet--very concerning. #gardening #sprouts #pollinators #companionplanting #bees

Day 30: #grownostr initiative I can't believe I have been using #nostr for a month now. Seems like yesterday when I was working through pub keys and lightening and clients and #coffeechain and #plebchain and getting to see all the cool stuff people are doing around the world and to meet some of those amazing people doing it. As the saying goes... Time flies when you are having fun!

I bought (10) - 1 gallon blackberry plants 2 years ago at an auction for a couple of dollars. I grew them and transplanted them into 5 gallon pots. I didn't know where I wanted to plant them on my property yet so I kept them in the pots. They began to produce berries the following year and my chickens proceeded to eat everyone of them as soon as they were ripe. They sat through two freezing winters with ice and snow and a summer without water. I thought they all had died . I walked past the pots of what I thought to be dead plants. 5 plants actually survived. I am excited to plant these very hardy blackberries this weekend. #grownostr #gardening #homestead #permaculture #perennial

Garden News: In addition to getting the tomato cages installed, we also thinned the bush beans and sowed lettuce and herb seeds. We also had to replant the cantaloupe (I planted too early and I believe the temps were just too low.) Oh...I also planted some Alyssum--I love the aroma! And I think the pollinators will love it too. #grownostr #gardening #homesteading

I finished the last piece of a clients bathroom remodel. I left my job as a designer in an architecture firm several years ago and now on top of the design and drafting work I do for clients, I also take on a lot of the build myself. It has made me a better designer understanding the challenges of building a home...even this simple bench. #grownostr #design #build #drafting #homeplans
