@Maple AI is really great. In comparison Proton’s Lumo sucks and refuses to answer anything even remotely controversial.
I tried asking all major AIs about nicotine consumption for something that has some stigma, but is perfectly legal and ethical. Surprisingly Proton is the only one that refused to answer. ChatGPT happily answered, but it was not helpful and oddly refused to give numerical data or attempt math.
Grok tied Deepseek in Maple for the best answer that was clear, logical, and included the numbers and math I wanted.
Maple obviously wins big on privacy. Interestingly, Grok was second best on privacy as you can sign up with a burner email, no X account needed, and no other verification in free mode. Whereas Anthropic requires a phone number and won’t take VOIP or other privacy preserving options.
Summary: feel my one year Maple subscription was well worth it based on both quality and privacy. Sometimes when you’re a parent you want to ask questions in a judgement free zone 😅

The Cashu FUD is so tiresome and so easily solvable that I struggle to believe people are posing these objections in good faith, I came up with these four ideas with literally 2-3 minutes of brainstorming. The claim there is no solution is INSANE:
1) mildly cyphepunk: the risk is overblown and just accept the status quo; I’ve used Cashu since it came out and have never lost a sat, use Calle’s mint auditor and various mint review websites.
2) mildly statist: hire an existing Bitcoin only MSB to run the mint. Strike, River, etc are highly competent engineers who can easily handle running a dinky Cashu mint when they have gigantic lightning nodes.
3) maximally cyberpunk: hire a high reputation anon like Calle, Egge, etc to run a mint.
4) maximally statist: hire a tradfi firm or bank. Fidelity showed they can roll their own custody and it’s actually pretty impressive. BNY Mellon and other Wall Street goats also have or are about to have in house custody offerings. Could hire a shitcoin casino like Coinbase. Cashu is easy to run so any of these could do it.

GM! You can just do things. I wake up early af so I can leave work early and spend more time with my kids. Everyone around me says they wish they were a morning person so they could do it too. MFer I hate getting up early, but somethings are more important. You’ll never get their childhood back, it only happens once and I’m not missing it.
Genuinely really proud of my boomer father, despite being near retirement the last year or so he has been selling down US govt bonds to buy Bitcoin. He’s not 100% bought in on Bitcoin, but he fully got that nothing stops this train. For a boomer I feel like that’s pretty impressive.
As long as democratic leaders remain so wildly out of touch with the views of the vast majority of Americans they will continue to struggle in national elections. Republicans are out of touch too for sure, but slightly less so these days.
