Just had a thought... Perhaps people don't really want the freedom nostr provides. They would rather be coddled by centralized entities who censor words, ideas, and filter spam. I genuinely think people think that's more valuable than decentralized, censorship resistant communication. Because until we can emulate algorithms, AI filtering, and whatever else a big centralized entity can do on cheap consumer hardware, lots of people won't touch nostr. Each should be able to have the experience they want right outside the box. That's a tall and tough order for a decentralized communications platform like nostr. The only reason why people might say they want something like nostr, and yet never move to nostr, is because they believe that if they complain and throw a large enough trantrum, authority will give them what they really want. It's an extremely abusive relationship. Network effects don't help either.

God, Flux is impressive. I just tried making a lora and I deliberately used an auto-captioning llm to do the work. Even with the bad captions if I prompt correctly, then flux can get it right each time. Of course, I would rather not have long prompts filled with unnecessary details about something I want the lora to do implicitly. So basically, time to get to work and actually write good captions myself.

So I've been playing Borderlands 3 and I'm really enjoying it so far. Is the story better than Borderlands 2? Probably not but the game itself is pretty good. I'd say I'm enjoying it equally or more than the original Borderlands; which I'm also replaying on occasion. Not to mention I think the story is probably about as good as the original Borderlands. I dunno, we'll see how I feel once I'm done.

There are some LORA's being created for Flux. Apparently some aren't exactly LORA's and some are. It's pretty early so I'm waiting until we get some concrete tools and methods to make them. I dunno, with how good Flux's image cohesion is, I really feel like all we'll need is an NSFW finetune and then we're off to the races with LORA's. But that's just a guess. Maybe we'll only need an NSFW lora.

So I have a bit of a problem. I like using sxiv for veiwing images. The problem is that I want to use jpeg XL. I've tried using a script to create a library file so that I can have it view jxl images but it doesn't work. I've also tried nsxiv which according to the Arch wiki, allegedly supports jxl images. That hasn't worked either. My default image view works. So it's either get used to my default image viewer or hope that I can get either sxiv or nsxiv to work. : 🤔

Gonna be playing Borderlands 3 for the first time. We'll see how it goes!

I only just found out about this today. Death to jpg and png (and maybe gif too)! Long live jxl or jpeg xl! The king of image file formats! Better image quality, lossless images with smaller files sizes than png, hdr support, and more! Just played around with it and it's way better than its predecessors and competition. 🤯

Just started using my own instance of noStrudel. It feels faster and seems better than Snort in general. As of right now, Snort isn't working very well on my node.

Finished the new animated Batman show. Meh, the ending was a bit disappointing. The idea is to leave it as a cliff hanger. I'd watch another season I suppose. It's not bad.

Might as well say just because... I watched the new Deadpool and Wolverine movie recently. It was quite good and it's gotten me interested in Marvel's current phase moreso than any movie prior.

Watching the new Batman Caped Crusader show. Just finished the first episode. It's likeable and it's good. Not exactly amazing but I find it refreshing. However the background artwork is stellar. I'll probably post more thoughts and feelings after some more episodes.
