Pirate Party MEP @Patrick Breyer deserves mountains of praise for remaining persistent, principled, and hyper-focused communicating the serious flaws with EU Commission’s CSAM screening / upload moderation / #ChatControl regulation. Via his website, he kept detailed notes, explainers, and guides to walkthrough how detrimental this proposed regulation would be to privacy and individual freedom, as well as the future of encryption. EU lawmaking is a labyrinth, and his warnings alongside every part of this process has better informed and equipped Europeans to fight against chat control. They paid serious dough for a Times Square virtual billboard calling it a “corrupt” coin for American enemies and criminals. I don’t share these thoughts at all. First, we know how hard Tether has pivoted to implement chain analysis and KYC/AML. Second, every claim made against Tether could also be made against Bitcoin.

I was quoted in this article on Ripple’s political lobbying in DC.
